Slice of Life: April 25

 April 25

Today I went to the store with my mom and my sister. My mom had to get a few things there, and my dad wasn’t home yet so we had to go too. So my mom drives us to the store and we get a cart. My mom goes through aisles and we follow. It was kind of boring, but she let us get some things for ourselves. I had my phone with me, so I was listening to music. My mom asked me to get some lemons for her, and I took a while to get them, because I didn’t really know where they were. My mom gets everything else on her list, and she pays, and we leave. She drives us home, and I help with the bags. I also help her unpack the bags, and put away the groceries. I did my homework after.

Slice of Life: April 23 & 24

   April 23

Today in lunch, we got assigned seats.  :(  So yesterday I wasn’t here, and I heard from my friends that there was no assigned seats that day. So I’m wondering why people can’t follow the rules. I really dislike it when we have to because I don’t exactly have best friends in my homeroom/excel. Lunch today was really boring, and it’s probably going to be like this for a while. The good thing about lunch today was that the supervisors allowed us to move around during recess, but we’d have to stay in out seats, which was fine by me, since I knew exactly who I was going to sit with. I really hope the lunch supervisors consider the fact that assigned seats make some people miserable, i.e. me.

Today in gym we started these groups of different sports. Last week, we chose what we wanted to play, football, soccer, and paddleball. I chose paddleball because it’s something that I’ve never tried before, and school always makes you do soccer and football. Also paddleball is played like tennis, and I’m not good at tennis from my experience. I think I did really good though, it was really easy, easier than I thought. There also wasn’t a lot of of people. I hope that we have some kind of tournament, or something like that. I also think that I hit the ball too hard, but I think I can hit it pretty far, and that’s good because the ball is supposed to go over a net. The net isn’t too high off the ground, but it isn’t too high either. I think I’ll have a lot of fun trying this sport. If you’d call it one.

Slice of Life: April 21 & 22

  April 21

Today I went to my grandparents house for a Easter dinner. First we exited church, which ended at about 3, we went home to see how Tank was. He was so cute and happy to see us come home. I felt bad because we were only there to check on him, and we only stayed for about 10 minutes. It was hard to leave because Tank would be at the door following us and I told him to go in his kennel, and I had to give him a treat once he went in or he wouldn’t listen. My dad drove us to my grandparents house, and we say hello. We brought most of the food, and we unpacked. We all sit down and put food on our plates. I talk with my cousin, she’s 13 and I’m 12. I also talk with my sister  and my other cousin, she goes to a University or something. So when everyone is done eating, my grandma shows up with a cake shaped like a bunny with pink and white frosting. She said that she made it her self, and I have to say, it tasted really good. We’re all done and we stay for about 30 minutes talking, but then my dad says that we should get going to see how Tank is doing again. We got Tank only a day ago, so we don’t really know how he’ll be like. The dinner was really good and it was nice to see my grandparents, my aunts, my uncles and my cousins. Tank behaved well while we were gone.  :)))

 April 22

Today I didn’t go to school because I was sick. :(   The other day I’d been sneezing and coughing, and my throat was practically burning. So today I didn’t really do much, but my mom had to take me to the store. First we had to go to the post office. That’s when I asked my mom to take me to Walgreens for some cough drops, tissues, and medicine. We needed some more food for dinner and lunch and breakfast, and just food in general. My mom drove to the store, and I felt so tired and disgusted. It really felt like forever. After that, we got home, and I still had a like 2 hours to myself. I spent 1 hour of that time sleeping. I got tired of sleeping, so my mom allowed me to go on my phone. Today was a slow day, and wow, totally can’t wait to see what I missed out on. I’m still sick.  :(((

Slice of Life: April 19 & 20

   April 19

Today we had no school, and I honestly did nothing. One thing that really made me think was that my dad would get us a dog. I kinda got upset, mostly because I had a bad experience with a dog when I was little, and I felt like getting a dog would make me so busy that it gets in the way of my school work. I was like 4 or something when our dog bit me on my face. We of course don’t have that dog anymore. So my dad said that tomorrow, April 20, we were going to go see some dogs. I was a little nervous, because I was kind of scared that when we got one, it would bite me, or something. <:(
So yeah, I didn’t really do much except watch tv or go on my phone.

  April 20

Today was insane. We actually got a dog. WOW. His name is Tank, and he is part pitbull. So first, it was 3:30 PM, and my mom said to get ready because we were about to go see the dogs. We had to wait, and when we actually got there, at was about 4:00. So when we got there we went into this room, and the instructor told us that she was going to get the dog. So then Tank and the instructor come in, and the instructor introduces him to us. I found out that my dad went there a few days earlier, and he picked this dog for us and thought that he was perfect. So had some toys and he was so friendly. My mom said that we were going to take him home on Monday, but apparently we took him home today. I love him so much, but one thing I’m worried about is how he’ll behave with my parakeets. They’re birds if you didn’t know. Pretty small birds, theyre the size of my hand. So I’ll see how he behaves, and I really can’t wait to bond with him. The sad thing is that on Sunday, we have to leave him. First we have to go to church, then go to a Easter dinner. So he would have to be alone for a couple of hours, but I’m sure he’ll be okay.  :))))

Slice of Life: April 17 & 18

  April 17

Today after school I worked on my Rota board. It’s from my Social Studies class, and Rota comes from Ancient Rome, and it’s basically tic-tac-toe. So you have to play with someone because you have to have two people, including yourself. The board is shaped like a circle, and in the middle there’s a small circle, and around it are 7 more circles. You have to have three game pieces, and the person you’re playing with has three game pieces too. It had to have a theme and be colored, and I chose to do a beach theme. To win, you have to get three in a row.

  April 18

Today after school, I baked chocolate chip cookies. So when I got home from school, I asked m pay mom if I could bake some cookies, and she said okay. So I got my ingredients, butter, sugar, flour, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla extract. So first I mixed all of the wet ingredients first, then in a separate bowl, mixed the dry ingredients. So then I mixed the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.  So once they are mixed, I shaped them into a cookie shape. So then I put them in the oven at 375 degrees and baked them for 10 minutes. It was kind of a big batch, but most of the cookies were for a Easter dinner with my family. I really enjoy baking, and it’s a big hobby of mine.  :))))

Slice of Life: April 15 & 16

  April 15

So today after school I got homework from my math class, and I had to work on a practice math test. It was kind of hard, but it was also easy. So it had 14 questions, and I took a long time doing it and I had made myself do this work until 10:00 PM since I was actually also doing some other stuff before then, so I took longer. It wasn’t fun, but it did give me something to do.  :((((  So when I actually started it, I realized that I needed some paper, so I grabbed one of my notebooks and pencils and started working. So, yeah, most of the day I didn’t really do much.  :/

   April 16

Today in school we started IAR testing. It used to be called PARCC, but for some reason they changed the name. So this week we have to take 3 math tests, and today it took like an hour I think. The week before we took 2 ELA tests, and they were longer. I think that’s because you had to write an essay at the end, so it would kind of take a while since students probably can’t write an entire essay without getting stuck or bored. So tomorrow and Thursday we have to take the 2 other tests, and it’s probably going to be a little hard and boring. I can’t wait to be off school on Friday. Also I can’t wait to have Easter since it’s one of my favorite holidays, and I get to be with my family.  :))))

Slice of Life: April 13 & 14

April 13

Today was my grandma and grandpa’s 50th Anniversary!! So we celebrated this occasion by going on a trip to a resort! The resort is called Pheasant Run Resort. It has a few indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants, an arcade, a theater, a fire pit, and probably a lot more, since we didn’t get to everything. I have a lot of pictures that I can show. :)))  So it was for my dad’s side of the family, and we had a lot of fun playing in the pool and the arcade. It was like 8:00, and at the resort, as I mentioned earlier, there was a fire pit, and at that time we made s’mores. We only stayed there for a night though, and I would love to stay there longer. It’s so relaxing and fun. I loved spending time with my family, and I would like to be there again. <:)))

April 14

Today at about 11:00 was when we had to leave the resort, and it was kind of a relief, because we had to keep on walking around the place, because our key cards weren’t working. :(  Also, I was really tired, and I didn’t get any good sleep. In the morning, we woke up at about 7:00, because my sister wanted to go in the pool again, and I was like “nope”. When I looked in the mirror, I had looked tired, like REALLY tired. I had waffles in the morning, my sister had cereal, my mom and grandma had a bagel, and they each had a coffee, except me and my sister of course. Then came my cousin that is a year older than me, and next thing we know, we’re out of there. I was so exhausted and disappointed.
